Any cheap ways to go on a trip to london, paris, and rome from spain? is using the interrail a good option?

me and some friends are quite on a budget but we'd like to go traveling around these cities but the airfares seem too costly.. we'd like to know if using the interrail would be a good idea. and it seems fun going with friends on a train trip..
