Is it possible to develop the safety on aircraft to protect the businesses and most especially the human life?

there's a lot of development on all kinds of aircraft. all of those were means a lot of money from its financier. if they consider a better profit from their innovations to make a good business. i think they should gave also an importance to protect the human life. it doesn't mean that pay much attention on safety of human life is loosing their money, it is also part of protecting their own businesses. saving life means saving of their aircraft isn't it?
